We should all be using change as an opportunity to explore our creativity, improve our skills, and work more efficiently together.
I joined Eximia nearly three years ago and in that time, I’ve been through various changes. I’ve moved house, my sister has come back from Australia, and I’ve acquired two cats.
Change is the only constant in life. It’s an overused phrase – but only because it’s so accurate. It can be thrilling when we’re in control of it, and frightening when we lose that sense of ownership.
So, when it comes to our work lives, how can we see change in a positive light and ensure we respond well to it? And how can we work together to get the best outcomes, despite being in new territory?
Change brings new opportunities
Our comfort zone is an easy place to stay, but it’s dull. People stagnate and lose enthusiasm. That’s why at Eximia we don’t avoid change – we encourage it. We use our team days to talk about a project or service, and decide together the direction we want to go in. By bringing together the ideas of our consultants, content producers and creatives, we can be sure we’ll reach the best outcome for us and our clients.
And we do that individually, too. We give opportunities for people to develop their own skills and try new things. Recently, our Creative Designer and Animator Charlotte dived into the world of animation. It’s a change she has really enjoyed. I’ve seen the outputs she’s created for our clients with her new skills – and I can confidently say it’s great for them too!
This is just one of the ways we Challenge the Process. That’s our mantra, and it means change becomes a friendly face.
